Chibuto Solar Power Plant

SAL Energia is honoured to present the 95 MW Chibuto Solar Power Plant Project (capacity to be expanded to 150 MW in a subsequent phase), a structuring project that combines innovation, environmental responsibility and social inclusion, serving a more prosperous future for all Mozambicans.

This is a project that fits into the vision of making Mozambique a prosperous, competitive and sustainable country, where energy plays a crucial role. Firstly, by supplying the domestic market, reducing production costs in strategic sectors to make national producers more competitive and the economy more attractive to investors in the region. Secondly, by improving access to energy and making it accessible to the general population.

SAL Energia, in its commitment to exploring the energy potential from hydro, solar, wind and biomass sources, seeks through this Chibuto Power Plant Project to promote the increase of national renewable energy production capacity to meet domestic demand and, at the same time, explore export opportunities to neighbouring countries in the region.

The Chibuto Solar Power Plant represents a structural milestone in Mozambique's trajectory towards a cleaner, more modern and resilient energy system. This project is a concrete expression of our commitment to transforming the energy sector, based on a strategic focus on clean sources such as solar energy abundant and with a high potential for change.

This investment by SAL Energia will contribute to achieving a more sustainable energy matrix, helping to increase security in energy supply.
